Answers to the questions people most often ask about how PursuitMate works — posting a Pursuit, sending and accepting Requests, chat, confirming a meetup, Trust Score, safety, XP, rewards, referrals, and verification.
1.Getting Started
What is PursuitMate?
PursuitMate is a real-world meetup app: you post a "Pursuit" — a specific plan for an activity — and other people nearby send a Request to join. Once you accept someone, you chat, meet up in person, and both confirm afterward that it happened. It's intent-first: every connection starts from a real plan, not a profile.
Is PursuitMate a dating app?
No. PursuitMate is platonic — it's a social club for people who want to do things and make genuine friendships, not a dating or hookup app.
How do I create an account?
Sign up with your phone number, verify the OTP sent to it, then complete a short profile (name, gender, date of birth, city). You can optionally enter a friend's referral code during setup.
Is PursuitMate free to use?
Yes, PursuitMate is free to download and use. You must be 18 or older to create an account.
Can businesses use PursuitMate?
Yes — there's a business account option for posting authorized commercial activities. Business accounts don't earn XP, since rewards are reserved for personal meetups.
2.Posting a Pursuit
What is a "Pursuit"?
A Pursuit is a plan you post for others to join — a category, a title and description, your city/area, the date and time, and how many people can join.
What categories can I post in?
Cafes & Hangouts, Sports & Fitness, Adventures & Trips, Arts & Music Collab, Learning & Network, Entertainment & Fun, Nature & Wellness, and Spiritual & Heritage — each with several specific subtypes to pick from.
How many Pursuits can I have active at once?
Up to 5 Active Plans at a time. A slot only frees up after both you and your meetup partner confirm that the meetup happened.
Can I control who applies to my Pursuit?
Yes, you can set optional filters like an age range or gender preference, and you choose which Requests to accept — nothing happens without your approval.
Can I hide my exact meetup location?
Yes. You can show only a general area in the public feed and keep the exact meeting point hidden until someone is accepted into your Pursuit.
Can I post a paid or commercial activity?
Only Verified Corporate/business accounts can post authorized paid events. Using a personal account to charge money for ordinary meetups is not allowed.
Why didn't my Pursuit show up right away?
New Pursuits can take a short moment to appear in the city feed. If it still isn't visible after a few minutes, check that your post passed content review and that your city is set correctly in your profile.
What happens once my Pursuit is full?
Once you've accepted enough people to fill it, the Pursuit closes to new Requests and any other pending Requests on it are automatically declined.
3.Applying & Requests
How do I join someone else's Pursuit?
Open their Pursuit and send a Request, optionally with a short message. The host can then accept or decline it.
How many Pursuits can I apply to or join at once?
Up to 5 Engagements (Requests that are pending or accepted) at a time. The same dual-confirmation rule applies — a slot frees up once the meetup is confirmed by both sides.
How do I check the status of my Requests?
Go to your Requests screen and open "My Applications" — it shows Pending, Accepted, or Declined for everything you've sent.
How do I manage Requests I've received?
Go to your Requests screen and open "Received" — accept or decline each applicant from there.
What happens when I accept a Request?
A private chat opens between you and that person, your Pursuit's filled-spot count goes up, and you're both notified. If that fills your Pursuit, any other pending Requests on it are automatically closed.
Can I leave a Pursuit after being accepted?
Yes — you can withdraw from an accepted plan. This closes the chat and frees up the slot for both sides; the Pursuit can reopen to new Requests if there's still room and the planned time hasn't passed.
4.Chat
When can I start chatting with someone?
Only after the host accepts a Request. There's no messaging before that point.
Is my phone number shared in chat?
No. Your phone number is never shown to other users. Anything you choose to share inside a chat — phone number, social handles, etc. — is at your own discretion and risk.
Can I send photos in chat?
Yes, chat supports both text and image messages.
Can I block someone?
Yes, you can block any user at any time from chat or their profile. Blocked users can't contact you again.
5.Meeting Up & Confirmation
Why do I need to confirm a meetup?
Confirming verifies that the plan actually happened in real life. It's what frees up your Active Plan/Engagement slot and updates both users' Trust Scores and XP.
Do both people need to confirm?
Yes. A meetup is only finalized — and slots only free up — once both participants confirm it happened.
What if the other person doesn't show up?
You can mark "didn't show up" instead of confirming. That counts as a no-show against the other person and protects your own Trust Score; repeated no-shows can get an account restricted.
What happens after a meetup is confirmed?
The Pursuit slot closes out, and both people get a prompt to leave quick feedback on the meetup, which feeds into Trust Score and XP.
6.Trust Score & Safety
What is my Trust Score?
A reliability percentage based on your meetup history — completed meetups versus no-shows. The more reliably you show up, the higher it climbs.
How do I report a user or a Pursuit?
Use the in-app report option on any profile, Pursuit, or chat, and choose a reason (spam, scam, harassment, sexual abuse, undeclared commercial activity, etc.). Reports are reviewed and acted on, typically within 24 hours.
What happens if someone is reported?
Valid reports can lead to content removal, reduced visibility of a Pursuit, Trust Score penalties, or account restriction — severe violations like harassment or sexual abuse are treated with zero tolerance.
What does "restricted" mean for an account?
It's a moderation flag applied after repeated no-shows or policy violations that limits what an account can do on the platform.
What safety rules should I follow when meeting in person?
- Always meet in a public, well-lit place and tell a friend where you're going.
- Travel in your own vehicle or licensed public transport — never get into another user's vehicle.
- Never go to another user's private residence or any secluded location.
- Never send money, gift cards, or sensitive financial details to another user.

7.XP & Rewards
What is XP and how do I earn it?
XP (experience points) is earned by completing meetups and by referring friends. Every new user also gets a signup bonus.
How much XP do I get per meetup?
Your first few meetups in a given category earn a higher amount of XP; after that, meetups in that category earn a smaller, steady amount. Business accounts don't earn XP.
What can I redeem XP for?
Loyalty Rewards
Redeem from the Rewards screen with your size and shipping address. XP is deducted once you claim, and claims are reviewed and shipped in batches.
Do business accounts earn XP?
No — business account activity is tracked for the platform's records, but rewards are reserved for personal accounts.
8.Referrals
How does the referral code work?
Every user gets a unique referral code on their profile. Share it with a friend — when they sign up and enter your code, you earn bonus XP.
How much XP do I get for referring someone?
Your first several successful referrals earn a higher bonus than later ones, but every successful referral earns something.
Are there requirements for a referral to count?
The referral code must be entered at signup, a person can only be referred once, and the system has anti-fraud checks in place to prevent the same person or duplicate accounts from generating repeated rewards.
9.Corporate Verification
What is the Verified badge?
A badge shown on your profile after you verify a corporate or work email address. It signals extra trust and is associated with a noticeably higher Request-acceptance rate.
How do I verify my work email?
- Open verification in your account settings.
- Enter your corporate email address.
- Enter the one-time code sent to that email within the time limit shown.
Once verified, your Verified badge and email domain appear on your profile.
Does verification expire?
Yes, corporate verification is tied to your email and can expire, after which you may need to re-verify.
10.Profile & Account
What shows up on my profile?
Your Trust Score, your Active Plans (Pursuits you've posted), your Engagements (Pursuits you've applied to or joined), and your XP & Rewards progress.
What is the Vibe Check?
An optional 10-question personality quiz that gives the people you might meet a bit of compatibility context. Once completed, your answers are locked for 6 months before you can retake it.
How do I edit my profile?
From your account settings you can update your name, photo, city, gender, date of birth, and the business-account toggle.
How do I delete my account?
There's a delete option in account settings. Your public profile is anonymized immediately; some data is retained for a limited period for safety/fraud-prevention purposes as described in our Privacy Policy.
11.Notifications
What notifications will I get?
You'll be notified when someone sends you a Request, when your Request is accepted, when you get a new chat message, and when it's time to confirm or give feedback on a meetup.
Why am I not receiving notifications?
Check that notification permissions are enabled for PursuitMate in your device settings, and that you have a stable internet connection.
12.Privacy & Location
Can other users see my exact location?
No — only a general area is shown publicly. Your exact meetup location stays hidden until you accept someone into your Pursuit.
How does PursuitMate know my city?
From your device's location (with your permission) or the city saved on your profile. If Pursuits in your feed look like the wrong city, update your city in your profile settings.
